| Duke of Edinburgh's Award
|
|
Outdoor Ed Venture staff have many years of involvement in providing training, supervision and assessment for Duke of Edinburgh programmes, particularly the expedition element of the programme.
We understand that many Award groups struggle to provide the resources for this element, both in training for the venture and suitable equipment. As all Award Leaders know the safety and well-being of the participants is dependent on the quality of the training, as is the quality and enjoyment of the total experience.
Oudoor Ed Venture can provide the training and equipment required for land and paddle ventures as per the Common Training Syllabus which covers:
- First Aid and emergency procedures
- An awareness of risk and health and safety issues
- Navigation and route planning
- Campcraft, equipment and hygiene
- Food and cooking
- Country, Highway and Water Sports Codes (as appropriate)
- Observation and recording
- Team building
- Proficiency in the mode of travel
In addition to this we can provide venture supervision and assessment for all levels of award.

Outdoor Ed Venture has also provided training and assessment in the Physical Recreation, Skills and Service sections of the award.
We also provide Gold Award Residential Projects which can include the following elements:
- Conservation or environmental work
- Service to others
- Activities
- Personal training
